OUTSTANDING CHAPTER/COLONY


This award is given to one chapter and one colony that have achieved excellence as undergraduate entities of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority. The entity is current and in good standing with all national paperwork deadlines, financial responsibilities, and academic standing. The entity has demonstrated efficient management, original, innovative and well-rounded programming, fosters sisterhood within the entity, is an involved member within their Greek and campus community on their respective campus, and upholds the five founding principles of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority in every aspect of the entity.
 
NEEDED TO APPLY
  • SOD Ranking (Standard, Excellent, Distinct)*
  • Letter of Support from your advisor, Greek advisor, University faculty or staff member, or community person*
  • Recommendation letter from an entity advisor detailing officer transition, meeting consistency and business conduct*
  • Any documentation that would support your application (i.e., news clippings, pictures, letters, etc.).
  • Statement detailing programs and practices used to boost entity and individual GPAs
  • Documentation of hours from organization(s)/individual(s) receiving community service assistance
  • Receipts/deposit slips documenting $ earned for Breast Cancer Research/TRiO programs
  • Statement detailing programs and practices used to promote cultural awareness of cultures/ethnicities that are represented and not represented in your entity
  • Member Code of Conduct
  • Statement detailing programs and practices used to promote morals & ethics within your entity and community
  • List of members who have been recognized for moral & ethics, including reasons
  • Recruitment plan and/or calendar for academic year
  • Receipt of donation to the SLG Education Foundation

This award is given to the chapter/colony that has achieved excellence as an entity of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority.  The chapter/colony has maintained good standing on all national paperwork deadlines, financial responsibilities, and academic standing.  The chapter/colony has also demonstrated efficient entity management, original and innovative well-rounded programming, fosters sisterhood within the entity, is an involved member within their respective Greek and campus community, and upholds the five founding principles of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority in every aspect of the chapter/colony.

OUTSTANDING ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION

This award is given to the alumnae association that has achieved excellence as an association of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority. The association is current and in good standing with national paperwork deadlines and financial responsibilities. Furthermore, the association demonstrates efficient association management, supports national initiatives, fosters sisterhood, and upholds the 3 C’s of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority (Connection, Cultivation and Community) in every aspect of the association.

This award is given to the alumnae association that has achieved excellence as an association of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority.  The association is current and in good standing with national paperwork deadlines and financial responsibilities.  Furthermore, the association demonstrates efficient association management, supports national initiatives, fosters sisterhood, and upholds the 3 C’s of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority (Connection, Cultivation and Community) in every aspect of the association.

Alumnae Associations focus on 3 C's that exemplify our Five Principles at an Alumnae level : Connection, Cultivation and Community:

  • Providing social and professional contacts within Sigma Lambda Gamma alumnae
  • Providing assistance and professional mentorship to graduating seniors
Cultivation (Academics, Morals & Ethics, Social Interaction, Cultural Awareness)
  • Encouraging personal and professional enhancement
  • Planting the seeds of Sigma Lambda Gamma through the Graduate Member Program
Community (Community Service, Morals & Ethics, Academics)
  • Providing support to the Sigma Lambda Gamma Community through partnership with the Education Foundation

OUTSTANDING COLLEGIAN

This award is given to an undergraduate who demonstrates exceptional leadership, excellence in academics, and is an influential and proactive member of her chapter/colony. The Outstanding Collegian is a role model for their chapter/colony and demonstrates Sigma Lambda Gamma's five founding principles in their everyday actions.

  • Statement detailing what have been your greatest contributions to your chapter/colony?

OUTSTANDING ALUMNA

This award is given to an active alumna member who has graduated from her institution in good standing and serves as a role model for all women of Sigma Lambda Gamma. The Outstanding Alumna has continued to contribute to the betterment of the sorority and upholds the five founding principles of Sigma Lambda Gamma in their everyday life.

OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER

This award is given to a Sigma Lambda Gamma Volunteer who demonstrates exceptional leadership, promotes SLG mission and principles, and is an influential and proactive leader for an entity/region within Sigma Lambda Gamma. This individual does not have to be a sister within Sigma Lambda Gamma. The Outstanding Volunteer is a role model for the entity/region and demonstrates Sigma Lambda Gamma's five founding principles in their everyday actions. The following individuals currently holding the listed positions are eligible to be nominated for this award:
  • Regional Director
  • Entity Advisor
  • Expansion Advisory Committee Member
